A harsh light straight in his face. Someone was screaming at him. The voice belonged to a male. It was brash and impatient. He couldn't understand him. He wanted to tell him that he doesn't know what is he saying, but before he opened his mouth, his head was plunged into the water. He struggled, he didn't expect that. It was painful, he was gasping for air, but just swallowed water. As he felt the lack of oxygen getting into his head, he was violently pulled out by the hair. He gasped, trying to catch his breath. Now more voices were screaming at him. They were all hostile. Too many of them, they all mixed into one incoherent chatter. He screamed that he doesn't understand, but they were not listening. Again his head was plunged into the water. This time for longer. He felt weaker, he didn't have any strength to struggle anymore. Just let him die. He was pulled out and painfully tossed to the ground. Coughing up the water he opened his eyes. He was not alone. He was facing a man. The man's eyes were wide open, blood draining from the corner of his mouth. Yinsen. He could see in the man's eyes his own reflection - his face dripping with water, eyes wide with fear. As he was looking at him he saw the light slowly disappearing from his eyes. "No.." Tony muttered, he tried to get up but his hands were tied behind his back. "No, YINSEN!!" he shouted seeing the convulsions that shook his body. He was dying. "Help!! Someone! Please help him!!" Tony cried. But there was no help. Yinsen started to cough up blood. So much blood. And then it was over. Yinsen's eyes didn't close. He was still looking at him, but there was no life in them anymore. They were black and empty. He was dead. It was too late.

"Tony, wake up, Tony."

Tony was sobbing in his sleep. He woke up with a suppressed scream. He was struggling to breath, trying to remember where he was.

"Look at me, look at me," Steve cupped his face forcing him to look him in the eyes. Tony's breath was shallow.

"They.. Killed him," he panted, feeling something heavy on his chest.
"It's alright now.."
"No!" Tony screamed, feeling tears rolling down his cheeks. "He.. He saved me.. And.. I couldn't… Because of me..." he was choking, trying to swallow the sobs in his throat.
"He did that for you. He did that so you could live," Steve said, embracing him. Tony's breath was short. He was trembling. He swore as the cry took over him.

"It's okay to cry, Tony. You don't have to hide it," the blonde whispered, holding him close. Hearing that Tony started to sob convulsively into his chest.

"You were so brave, sweetheart. So brave. I couldn't be prouder," Steve whispered, gently lifting Tony's chin up, kissing the tears away. With time Tony's sobbing turned into quiet whimpers.

"Steve, I.." he started, but Steve hugged him tighter, giving him a sign that he doesn't have to say anything.

"Go back to sleep, babe. I'll be here," the blonde said, gently placing Tony's head back on his chest. "I will be always here for you," he whispered, caressing his hair. Tony was listening to Steve's heart beat. Slowly he was drifting back to sleep.
